Background
What are some of the factors that led to your decision to enter the seminary and discern the question of a vocation to the priesthood?
I always had an interest and passion in biblical studies, biblical history and archaeology, and learning about the Jewish roots of the faith. I wanted my life to be centered around the faith and to be a bridge to Jesus for people. I also want to help enrich people’s faith by leading pilgrimages to the Holy Land.
Who are some of the people who influenced your decision to enter the seminary? What is it about them that assisted you?
Bishop Barron had a major influence on me. His videos and homilies fostered within me a greater appreciation of the faith and inspired me to start thinking about a priestly vocation.
Describe the moment that you knew you wanted to take the next steps to become a priest?
In the summer of 2020, during the Covid lockdown, I started developing the desire to devote the rest of my life in service of the Church in some capacity. Then the thought of the priesthood entered my mind. Although I initially rejected it, I found myself always thinking about the priesthood. After wrestling with the thought of the priesthood for about a year, I finally talked to my pastor about it and he got me in touch with the vocation director.
