Friday, October 25 | Christ Cathedral | 6 PM – 10 PM

The Office of Hispanic Ministry at the Diocese of Orange is hosting “Noche de Altares” at Christ Cathedral, a community-centered event celebrating Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead), an indigenous tradition. Organized by diocesan employees, ministry leaders, and volunteers. The event aims to honor this tradition and loved ones who have passed, fostering unity through art, culture, and compassion. All are invited to participate for one evening.
Ministries from various Catholic parishes across Orange County will dedicate altars to honor their parents, siblings, and friends.
Alongside viewing the beautifully crafted altars, attendees will enjoy cultural performances, live music, and diverse pop-up vendors. Children can engage in activities such as face painting and participate in a trunk- or-treat experience.
This event promises to be a vibrant celebration of community, heritage, and remembrance, creating a space where all are welcome to participate and connect.
Register now and secure your FREE ticket to Noche de Altares and be part of a beautiful tradition. Celebrate, remember, and honor with us.

Altars
Día de los Muertos is a reverent way to celebrate the Church’s teaching on the Communion of Saints and to pray for the souls of the deceased. Altars embody the central theme of Día de los Muertos, which is to celebrate life. It is a symbol that the deceased are not forgotten and are still important in the lives of the living.
