About Us

In the words of Saint John Paul II, “Church laws work to preserve the freedom of the Holy Spirit.” We want to understand and administrate God’s Mercy and God’s Justice through the eyes of Christ. Canon Law is the oldest continuously functioning legal system in the western world, but also it is the internal legal system of the Catholic Church.

Diocese of Orange Tribunal and Office of Canonical Affairs is the vicariate established by canon law as the judicial arm of the bishop’s government of the diocese. As such, it is the court system of the Church and the canonical forum for the resolution of legal questions arising from the activity of the Church and of the faithful.

The deadline for receiving applications for marriage nullity cases (including Formal, Favors of the Faith and Pauline Privilege cases) this year will be the 4th of November 2022.
