Mission Statement

The Diocesan Archives is charged with the preservation of Catholic records and history in the Diocese. The mission
of the Archives is to collect, preserve, organize, and make available for research the permanently valuable records and artifacts that reflect the work of the Diocese of Orange, its people and institutions. These records include, but are not limited to, the records and papers of Bishops, Diocesan departments, Clergy and parishes. The department also operates in accordance with
Canons 482 and 486-488 of the Code of Canon Law of the Roman Catholic Church.
