Las Posadas Procession

Las Posadas, which means “the inns” or “the lodgings” in Spanish, commemorates the journey of Mary and Joseph seeking shelter in Bethlehem. During the celebration, participants reenact Mary and Joseph’s journey, going door to door and asking for a place to stay. Traditional songs and prayers are recited during the procession, with plenty of food, drinks and sweets at the end.
