Background

What are some of the factors that led to your decision to enter the seminary and discern the question of a vocation to the priesthood?

I originally wanted to give people confidence by being an orthodontist, as my teeth were one of my insecurities, but reflecting on my life I realized that it was only Christ who could be what I wanted to give to others not just as comfort but fulfillment. I also received signs that I asked for and reflecting on my life, I feel that I have always sought Jesus.

Who are some of the people who influenced your decision to enter the seminary? What is it about them that assisted you?

My confirmation sponsor Thomas Nguyen, Father Ian Gaston, Father Victor O.F.M CAP. My sponsor lead me into the faith when he was my confirmation teacher and Fr. Ian and Fr. Victor are my role models as priests.

Describe the moment that you knew you wanted to take the next steps to become a priest?

When it came to applying to transfer colleges, I felt on my heart I didn't really see myself being completely satisfied with doing anything except telling people about Christ, I went to adoration maybe about 10 days in a row to pray for what I wanted to do and I felt God put onto my heart to enter the seminary.
