Entering the Jubilee Year of Hope
Pope Francis has declared 2025 the Jubilee Year of Hope (“Hope does not disappoint”), a sacred time to visit holy sites, perform acts of kindness, seek forgiveness for sins, and renew their relationship with God, one another, and creation.

Visit the St. Callistus Chapel and Crypts
The final phase of Christ Cathedral’s transformation has been completed with the opening of the St. Callistus Chapel and Crypts! The chapel is named in honor of the original St. Callistus parish, which moved to Christ Cathedral when the property was acquired by the diocese.
The Romano-Byzantine-style chapel, located beneath Christ Cathedral, was blessed and dedicated on October 14, the feast day of St. Callistus I. The chapel and crypts is now open to the public. Book a tour at the link below!

Podcast Highlight: Cathedral Square #109 – The What and the How of Hope
This special episode of Cathedral Square features the audio of a parish mission talk given by Fr. Christopher Smith recorded “LIVE” at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Chino Hills, CA.
Fr. Christopher has served as a priest of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange since 1978. He holds a master’s in divinity from St. John’s Seminary and a master’s in religious education from Fordham University. He has served in several capacities in the Diocese of Orange, including Parochial Vicar, Director of the Office for Religious Education, Vicar for Religious Education, Pastor of St. Joseph Church in Santa Ana, Episcopal Vicar for Priests, and Director of the Ministry to Priests Office. He was the first Rector of Christ Cathedral and is now the Rector Emeritus.

Fr. Ian's Homilies: "Love and Evangelization"
“And beginning with Moses and all the prophets, [Jesus] interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself” (Luke 24.27)—and in doing so, Jesus shows us that the scriptures are about Himself. Convicted by this truth, Fr. Ian preaches every weekend the mystery of Christ as revealed in the Sunday readings. It is Jesus who we seek—and in these homilies, Fr. Ian hopes to provide a glimpse of Him. Father Ian is a Roman Catholic Priest serving at Christ Cathedral in the Diocese of Orange in California.

We’re thrilled to share that on June 7, our diocese will welcome Deacon Oliver Coughlin to the Priesthood.
Deacon Oliver will be ordained to the Sacred Order of Priesthood by Bishop Kevin Vann on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Christ Cathedral. All are invited to attend.

National Eucharistic Congress Pilgrimage through Orange County
As the three-year National Eucharistic Revival in the United States draws to a close, we are excited to launch the St. Katharine Drexel Route from Indianapolis to Los Angeles and invite you to pray before the Blessed Sacrament along the way. The route will run through the Diocese of Orange through various parishes on June 18-20. All ages and walks of life are welcome to join in prayer before Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament as the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage travels across the country.

The Eighteenth Annual Service of Prayer for Christian Unity
You’re invited to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the first Ecumenical Council of the Church on Friday, May 30 at 7 PM. Held at St. Kilian Catholic Church, choirs from the Roman Catholic, Eastern Catholic, Armenian Apostolic, Assyrian and Orthodox Christian Liturgical traditions will perform starting. All are invited!
