‘Christ Fest / Festival de Cristo’ Presents Eleven Top Acts Including: Mac Powell, SonBy4, SIERVAS, Mariachi Sol De Mexico, Shane & Shane, Barbara Padilla, Rush of Fools & more…

Garden Grove, Calif., (Aug. 20, 2017) The Catholic Diocese of Orange hosts its annual ‘Christ Fest’ music festival Sept. 8 and 9. The outdoor concert series held on Christ Cathedral’s beautiful 34-acre campus has been expanded this year. Two evenings of music, from eleven top-ranked contemporary Christian and Christian traditional performers including Mac Powell, SonBy4, SIERVAS, Mariachi Sol de Mexico, Shane & Shane, Rush of Fools, Barbara Padilla and others will cover the broad Christian music genre – with performances in both Spanish and English.

Building on past success, the 2017 festival has been expanded in every sense. More seating, more food/beverage services, more music – from more bands. The international line-up illustrates just how far this event has come in a short time. The long-term diocesan goal is to make Christ Fest/Festival de Cristo a major entertainment event for anyone attracted to contemporary and traditional Christian entertainment and the many cultures these entertainment genres represent. SIERVAS, the South American rock/pop sensation is illustrative: its ‘singing nuns’ represent 8 South American and 3 Asian cultures!

FRIDAY, SEPT. 8: ‘Festival de Cristo’ – the all-Latin program features an array of top-billing talent that will appeal to the many Hispanic cultures that make up Southern California’s vibrant Latin community. Mariachi Sol de Mexico, Barbara Padilla, Puerto Rico’s – SonBy4 – and the remarkable ‘singing nuns from Peru’ – SIERVAS – illustrate the broad canvas that Latin Christian music has become. From traditional to contemporary rock, Friday’s ‘Festival de Cristo’ concerts will be presented entirely in Spanish.

SATURDAY, SEPT.9: With food courts and a Wine/Beer Garden ready to greet early arrivals, Saturday’s program kicks-off at 3PM and offers a non-stop cavalcade of the best in Christian entertainment. The Playbill offers something for every musical taste: Jimmy Cravity, Adam Bitter, Ike Ndolo, Barbara Padilla, Rush of Fools, Shane & Shane, SIERVAS and chart-topper, Third’s Day’s – Mac Powell.

With 11 talented acts presenting every form of world Christian entertainment – from mariachi to rock – opera crossover to singing nuns – Christ Fest/Festival de Cristo is a bold step forward in music entertainment production. Never before has a single event presented such an eclectic blend of local, world, traditional and leading-edge Christian music.

The Christian music genre is exploding across the world. SIERVAS, the rock/pop sensation from Peru – has performed for Pope Francis; Mac Powell’s fans hail from across the country and around the world. Mariachi del Sol and Barbara Padilla are revered by Hispanic audiences everywhere. SonBy4’s #1 global hit illustrates the Puerto Rican group’s international appeal. These stars and other performers come together two nights only as Christ Fest returns to Christ Cathedral campus in Garden Grove, CA.
