Diocese of Orange Celebrates Communications Success; ‘Orange County Catholic’ is Now Nation’s Largest Catholic Weekly
NEWPORT BEACH, CA – Supporters of the Diocese of Orange and its expanding communications platforms gathered Tuesday at the Fairmont Hotel in Newport Beach to celebrate a major milestone: with a weekly circulation of 80,000, the Orange County Catholic is now the largest weekly Catholic newspaper in the country.
Evangelizing Through Media
At the breakfast event, The Most Reverend Kevin Vann, Bishop of Orange, spoke about the importance of the Diocese’s various media platforms in the call to evangelize.
He highlighted the role of:
- The Orange County Catholic newspaper
- The diocesan website and mobile app
- The growing radio and TV programming
Bishop Vann also acknowledged the unique and successful partnership the diocese has with Freedom Communications, which publishes and distributes the print edition of the newspaper to Orange County Register subscribers.
