St. Edward the Confessor: Suicide Bereavement Support Group
Death touches all of our lives sooner or later. Sometimes it is expected, as with the passing of an elderly relative; sometimes it comes suddenly in the form of a tragic accident.
But suicide is different. The person you have lost seems to have chosen death, and that simple fact makes a world of difference to those left to grieve. The suicide survivor faces all the same emotions as anyone who mourns a death, but they also face a somewhat unique set of painful feelings on top of their grief … guilt, stigma, anger, disconnection.
If you are a survivor of suicide loss, we invite you to attend a Christ centered suicide bereavement support group forming at Saint Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Dana Point.
Everyone in the group, including its facilitators, has had someone close to them take their life and knows how devastating the experience can be. The group will meet Jan. 26 – May 25, 2023, from 6:30 – 8 p.m., on the second and fourth Thursday of each month.
Please email Teresa Alva or call her at (626) 893-5980.
