Kathleen Gunton will be speaking and reading from her latest book, “Putting Words Next to Silence,” a collection of cento poems that Robert Ellsberg (Orbis Bks) calls “a tour de force.” Each poem deals with that moment smaller than a second when we pass from this world to the next.
Gunton’s work can be found in many Catholic publications such as America, Commonweal, NCR, St Anthony Messenger, and Liguorian Magazine, as well as countless literary journals. An active member of St. Norbert for thirty years, Gunton embraces the privilege of being EM to the sick, dying — and their families. Gunton wrote her book while caring for her husband, who suffered with Alzheimer’s for six years.He died in 2022.
This presentation is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase. All royalties go to the Eudist Servants of the 11th Hour, an order of religious women founded by Mother Antonia Brenner known as “The Prison Angel.”
