The Christ Cathedral campus boasts a 12-foot statue of Our Lady of La Vang, the apparition of our Blessed Mother in 1798 to persecuted Catholics in a Vietnamese rainforest. A contemporary outdoor display blessed in July 2021, the shrine at the Diocese of Orange welcomes everyone to celebrate the testimony of faith of Vietnamese-Americans.

Vietnamese Catholics around the world have continued to revere Our Lady of La Vang as God’s faithful promise that hope does not disappoint. The image of the Virgin Mary’s revelation to the Vietnamese invigorates all who venerate her, especially our Vietnamese-American community who journeyed from war-torn persecution to deliverance into a new reality.
