After their journey from Alhambra to Santa Ana, the Missionaries of Charity Contemplative branch celebrated the opening and blessing of their new chapel, or “house of prayer,” as @oc.bishop calls it.

During the blessing, the local superior shared, “Today is the end of a long journey, and the beginning of another. It is the conclusion of the journey that brought our community from Alhambra to Santa Ana, to establish this convent and this chapel, from where Jesus in the Eucharist is longing to pour His love into many thirsting hearts, and from where He Himself longs to have His children quench His thirst for their love.”

The community relocated from Alhambra in 2020 with Bishop Vann’s support. By May 2021, they began their ministry, and this past Tuesday, their new chapel was completed.

We invite you to join us in prayer and support the Missionaries of Charity. For more information, contact the Office of Consecrated Life for the Diocese of Orange at the link in our bio.

Guess! That! Saint! 📚✍️🤔

We are putting our priests’ saint knowledge to the test as they decipher which saint is being described through a short string of emojis.

Can you describe the saints who inspire your faith using emojis? Try it in the comments!

All are invited to join us for the Mass of Consecration of Dalia Zakhary to a life of Virginity Lived in the World on Saturday, June 15 @10:30AM at Christ Cathedral.

Celebrated by Bishop Kevin Vann, this special Mass marks a significant moment for our diocese as Dalia will be the first woman to be consecrated in the Diocese of Orange as a consecrated virgin living in the world.

This ancient vocation existed in the early Church, lived out by the first virgin martyrs, St. Cecilia & St. Agnes, and has since been revised by the Second Vatican Council. Today, over 5,000 women have been called to this vocation worldwide and we are honored to witness Dalia Zachary dedicate herself to this community.
