22 de enero: Día de Reparación por los no nacidos y Misa por el fin del aborto

El lunes 22 de enero, el Obispo Vann invita a toda la comunidad católica a observar el día como Jornada de Reparación. Aunque la sentencia Roe contra Wade, que legalizó el aborto en todo el país, fue revocada en junio de 2022, muchas leyes estatales y federales siguen siendo hostiles a los niños no nacidos y muchas carecen de apoyo suficiente para las mujeres, los niños y las familias necesitadas. Se anima a los católicos a practicar el ayuno, la abstinencia y la oración ese día.

El Obispo Vann también invita a nuestra comunidad católica, así como a todas las personas de buena voluntad, a unirse al Obispo Nguyen en la oración de la Misa por la Protección de los Niños no Nacidos. La misa comenzará a las 19:00 en la Catedral de Cristo, 13280 Chapman Avenue, Garden Grove.

Panel ecuménico sobre María

Con motivo del Mes de la Unidad de los Cristianos, le invitamos a una noche de debate en la que se expondrán los puntos de vista copto, católico y luterano sobre la Madre de Dios. Al contemplar el papel de María en nuestro camino hacia el Reino, este acontecimiento sirve de puente hacia la unidad de los cristianos. Entre los panelistas figuran el PP. Hugh Barbour (Orden de Canónigos Regulares de Prémontré, Norbertines), el Obispo Kyrillos (Iglesia Copta Ortodoxa), y el Obispo Murray Finck (Obispo Luterano Retirado, ELCA).

El acto tendrá lugar el miércoles 31 de enero en el Centro Pastoral del Campus de la Catedral de Cristo, 13280 Chapman Avenue, Garden Grove, CA 92840.

Novedades en la construcción de la capilla y criptas de San Calixto

Recientemente, el Obispo Vann y otros líderes diocesanos recorrieron la última actualización de la construcción de la Capilla y Criptas de San Calixto. El espacio de culto subterráneo es el último paso de la renovación de la catedral para convertirla en un importante centro de culto católico de la Costa Oeste. Su finalización está prevista para junio de 2024.

All are invited to join us for the Mass of Consecration of Dalia Zakhary to a life of Virginity Lived in the World on Saturday, June 15 @10:30AM at Christ Cathedral. Celebrated by Bishop Kevin Vann, this special Mass marks a significant moment for our diocese as Dalia will be the first woman to be consecrated in the Diocese of Orange as a consecrated virgin living in the world. This ancient vocation existed in the early Church, lived out by the first virgin martyrs, St. Cecilia & St. Agnes, and has since been revised by the Second Vatican Council. Today, over 5,000 women have been called to this vocation worldwide and we are honored to witness Dalia Zachary dedicate herself to this community. Feeling called to discern your vocation? This ancient vocation existed in the early Church, lived out by the first virgin martyrs, St. Cecilia & St. Agnes, and has since been revised by the Second Vatican Council.
