SUMMARY:Summer Retreat: A Theological Journey through the Gospels and Acts of the Apostles
DESCRIPTION:*The Catholic Biblical Institute in the Diocese of Orange presents these short retreats with the goal of inspiring the faithful to continually study Sacred Scripture. All are welcomed to attend. Those wishing to take more courses in The Biblical institute may take these retreats as part of their introductory preparation. More information will be provided during our retreat. \n\n\n\nPresentations will include: \n\n\n\n\nMonday June 22 – The Gospel of Matthew: The Gospel as a Message of fulfillment in Christ.\n\n\n\nTuesday June 23 – The Gospel of Mark: Discipleship\, the Road to the Cross and Jesus’ divinity.\n\n\n\nWednesday June 24 – The Gospel of Luke: Sinners\, Banquets and the Encounter at Emmaus.\n\n\n\nThursday June 25 – The Gospel of John: The Book of Signs and the Book of Glory.\n\n\n\nFriday June 26 – Acts of the Apostles: Part 1: Saint Peter and the Council at Jerusalem.\n\n\n\nSaturday June 27 – Acts of the Apostles: Part 2: The ministry of Saint Paul and his trial in Rome.

SUMMARY:Foster Care Awareness Event
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to welcome Dr. Kimberly Henkel\, founder and Executive Director of Springs of Love\, who will speak about the foster care crisis and practical ways every Catholic can help. A representative from Olive Crest will also share about the needs of children and families in Orange County. Light refreshments will be provided. \n\n\n\nSprings of Love is a national Catholic ministry with chapters across the country that invites Catholics to discern how they are called to care for vulnerable children through fostering\, adoption\, and parish-based support. The ministry partners with parishes to walk alongside foster and adoptive families so they are never alone. \n\n\n\nWhile not everyone is called to foster or adopt\, everyone can do something—through prayer\, encouragement\, mentoring\, respite care\, or practical support. This gathering will also explore the possibility of launching one or more Springs of Love Chapters within the diocese\, creating parish-based communities of support for foster and adoptive families. \n\n\n\nAll are welcome—especially foster and adoptive families\, couples discerning this call\, and anyone interested in learning how they can support vulnerable children. \n\n\n\nEveryone can do something. \n\n\n\nLearn more at springsoflove.org
