Ministry Overview

The Office for Evangelization and Faith Formation of the Diocese of Orange seeks to fulfill the command of Jesus Christ to “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matt: 28:18-20). Through the Strategic Plan of the Diocese of Orange, we do this by promoting a personal relationship with Jesus, the worthy celebration of the Sacraments, and on-going participation in Catholic faith formation.

This is accomplished through the Parish Evangelization and Faith Formation Office that provides resource information for parishes, assesses needs, and facilitates networking for parish staff members involved in faith formation ministries serving children as well as adults.

It is also accomplished through the Emmaus Institute which teaches and shapes the catechetical leadership of the Diocese.  Catechists learn to teach the authentic faith of Christ and the Church in a way that engages the listener while modeling an evangelical approach.  All people are welcomed and encouraged to join catechists in learning and developing their Catholic faith.
