Loaves and Fishes, work hard to help end waste and stomp out hunger. One way they are doing this is through ongoing gleaning and harvesting projects. In partnership with local farmers such as Dan Manassero of the Original Manassero Farms and A.G. Kawamura of the Orange County Produce, pantries around Orange County are arranged to glean and harvest free, fresh produce for the low income communities they serve.

The Catholic Worker is an organization that has been running for over 15 years; this house serves the homeless of Orange County. Meals are available several times a week. The Catholic Worker also houses single women.

Each Saturday between 12 PM and 1 PM we distribute rice, beans, produce, meat, and bread to families in need living within the parish boundaries. Once a month we have government food. Used clothing is also distributed when available. We also provide sack lunches for the homeless and emergency grocery bags for the needy families every day in the Ministry Center.

Hope is an all volunteer program that provides food, clothing, household items and limited health supplies to those in need- senior citizens, families, and homeless living in the city of Huntington Beach only.

  • Monday – Friday 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the HOPE office: the office provides food (EFAP/USDA, EFSP/FEMA and purchased/donated), clothing, household items, and limited health supplies
  • 1st Wednesday of each month – Senior Bag Program. Once a month seniors (60+), who meet the financial requirements, can participate in this program sponsored by HOPE. Each household receives a free supplemental bag of groceries
  • 2nd Saturday of each month – CSFP (Commodities Supplemental Food Program). Sponsored by Community Action Partnership of Orange County aka. Orange County Food Bank, this program takes place once a month. The program is for seniors (60+) who meet the financial requirements. Each registered individual receives a supplemental box of food and a two-pound block of cheese.

Someone Cares Soup Kitchen provides a daily nutritional meal to homeless, unemployed, working poor families, senior citizens, the unemployed or under-employed, the mentally and physically challenged, and children. The Soup Kitchen provides meals seven days a week. Meals are served Monday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and a breakfast is provided every Saturday and Sunday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
