Experience the future Christ Cathedral in Virtual Reality
September 14, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
View the design and construction plan for Christ Cathedral renovation in virtual reality
Modern-day religious structures infrequently achieve contemporary acclaim. The former Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California is an exception. Acquired in 2014 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange and renamed Christ Cathedral, the beautiful 34 acre campus and array of iconic buildings will soon host two important events.
To recognize the Diocese of Orange on its 40th anniversary, Bishop Kevin Vann and Cathedral Rector and Episcopal Vicar, Fr. Christopher Smith invite you to attend a unique press event, September 14 at 3 p.m. within the inspiring edifice for the Christ Cathedral, currently under construction.
Much renovation, engineering upgrades and design changes are required before Christ Cathedral may host Roman Catholic services. Using Virtual Reality technologies, architects and other cathedral principals will discuss the new architectural designs and enable a limited number of media participants to ‘virtually tour’ the cathedral as now envisioned.
Space is limited. RSVP below.
NOTE: The Diocese of Orange will celebrate its 40th Anniversary, Sept. 18. A day-long series of public events is planned – including the sharing of the virtual reality cathedral tour with thousands of attendees. Congregants will be invited to view the VR program while seated in the cathedral space; the large scale virtual viewing of a new Catholic Cathedral design is unprecedented.
