SUMMARY:Biblical Retreat: Encountering Christ in the Gospel of John
DESCRIPTION:A Journey through John’s Gospel. This retreat will teach you how to read John’s Gospel so that you can discover the profound theological discourse in the first eleven chapters which many refer to as ‘the Book of Signs’ because Jesus works seven miraculous signs in these chapters and the latter chapters 12‒21 which are often referred to as ‘the Book of Glory’ because Jesus speaks about Glorifying His Father and the Father Glorifying the Son. \n\n\n\nGet away from the noise of daily life and spend some time encountering Christ in Sacred Scripture. \n\n\n\nPresentations will include: \n\n\n\n\nJohn\, Chapter 1: Jesus as the Eternal Word of God and the Lamb of God\n\n\n\nJohn Chapters 2-3 and 4 ‒ New wine\, a New Temple and New Birth and rivers of living water.\n\n\n\nJohn Chapter 6 ‒ The Passover\, Manna and the Bread of Life.\n\n\n\nJohn Chapter 11 ‒ The 7 sign and Jesus’ statement ‘I am the resurrection and the Life\n\n\n\nJohn Chapters 12 and 17 ‒ The Hour of Glory and John’s theme of Glory in John’s Gospel.\n\n\n\nJohn Chapters 19-20 ‒ The Cross and the Resurrection in John’s Gospel
