Serra Clubs of Orange County
OVERVIEW
Serra International was named for its patron saint, Junipero Serra, founder of the California missions. Through its three local Serra clubs, the organization has played an important part in the growth and development of the Diocese of Orange. From the time when Mission San Juan Capistrano was established more than 200 years ago, the name of Serra has been central to our local Catholic community. Since the founding of Serra International in 1935, the affiliated Serra clubs have worked to fulfill their mission:
- To foster and promote vocations to the priesthood and religious life, to the diaconate and lay ministries, and to develop appreciation of all religious vocations in the Catholic Church.
- To encourage its members to deepen their faith through personal spirituality, fellowship and education, and to fulfill each member’s own Christian vocation to service.
