Magnificat
Founded in 1981 in New Orleans, Magnificat is an international ministry to Catholic women based on the “Visitation” in Luke 1:39-56. Its purpose is the spiritual support and formation of Catholic women toward a lively faith in God, love for Mary and the Church and growth in holiness. Member– ship is spiritual. Magnificat Prayer Meals are quarterly with 250-500 attending. A speaker gives her personal testimony to the workings of the Holy Spirit in her life and there is prayer, praise and a shared meal. Toward spiritual formation they sponsor retreats, prayer groups, the St. Louis de Montfort Consecration to Mary and the promotion of The Divine Mercy. Open to all Catholic women. “Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapter” was started in 1992 in the Orange Diocese.
