Tenebrae choir comes to Christ Cathedral

Described as “phenomenal” and “devastatingly beautiful,” the award-winning choir Tenebrae, under the direction of Nigel Short, is one of the world’s leading vocal ensembles renowned for its passion and precision. Tenebrae will be making its West Coast premiere, joined by the Chamber Choir of the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus, on Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Christ Cathedral. 

Tenebrae has twice secured the award for Best Choral Performance in the BBC Music Magazine, and its recording of Fauré’sRequiem with the London Symphony Orchestra was nominated for the Gramophone Awards. In 2018, Music of the Spheres, Tenebrae’s album of part songs from the British Isles, received a Grammy nomination.
