CATERINA’S CLUB RESPONDS TO GREATER NEED

Chef Bruno Serato, owner of the Anaheim White House, is known for the high-end Italian cuisine at his historic restaurant. He is also the provider of meals for thousands of children who, without his daily meal service, would otherwise go hungry.

Over the years, through his nonprofit Caterina’sClub (named in honor of his mother, who told him to feed the children) Chef Bruno has delivered nutritious pasta dinners daily to hungry children.

Since the onset of COVID-19, he and his staff have been working day in and day out on the front lines to continue feeding those most vulnerable. Before the coronavirus outbreak Seratoused as much as 1,000 pounds of pasta each week. With the increased need, his staff is now cooking 7,000 pounds per week to fee up to 21,000 children and their family members per day.

To deliver all the pasta, the nonprofit has hired two more drivers to assist in the delivery of the dry pasta for meal preparation.

Caterina’sClub continues to deliver pasta via no-contact curbside delivery and drive-thru pick-ups to its current partners, including Boys and Girls Clubs, after-school programs, churches, schools, and many more.

In recent weeks, the nonprofit has gained 16 new partners, including a family homeless shelter, the Anaheim YMCA, Orangewood Foundation, and the Magnolia School District that serves nine schools.
