Our ecclesiastical province has transferred this Solemnity from Thursday, May 7 to Sunday (previously the 7th Sunday of Easter). Thursday, May 7 is observed as an Easter weekday.

NATIONAL MEETING OF DIOCESAN LITURGICAL COMISSION SAN JOSE, OCTOBER 9-12, 2012

This October, 2012, the Diocese of San Jose will host the annual National Meeting of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions. Each year, the diocesan directors of worship, members of their diocesan liturgical commissions, the chair of the United States Bishops' Committee on Divine Worship, and the Secretariat for Divine Worship gather to discuss relevant issues in liturgy in the United States. This gathering, will continue studying the topic from the 2011 gathering in Portland, Oregon—intercultural worship in a multicultural Church.

Missionary Intention: Mary, Guide of Missionaries. That Mary, Queen of the World and Star of Evangelization, may accompany all missionaries in proclaiming her Son Jesus.

General Intention: Christ, Present in the Eucharist. That believers may recognize in the Eucharist the living presence of the Risen One who accompanies them in daily life.

Missionary Intention: European Christians. That Christians in Europe may rediscover their true identity and participate with greater enthusiasm in the proclamation of the Gospel.

THE PURPOSE OF THE OFFICE FOR WORSHIP

To assist the bishop in his role as principal liturgist of the diocese.
To serve as a resource to diocesan parishes, schools, offices and institutions regarding liturgical matters which includes music, sacramental celebrations, devotional practices and liturgical formation.
To serve as a resource to diocesan parishes, schools, offices and institutions in the implementing the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA). RCIA is the normative process for anyone over the age of reason (usually age 7) to become a Catholic whether through baptism or reception into full communion.
To plan and coordinate Episcopal liturgies at which the bishop presides;
To assist the bishop in approving any renovations, remodeling or construction of churches or worship spaces.

EL PROPOSITO DE LA OFICINA PARA EL CULTO DIVINO

Ayudar al Obispo en su título como liturgista principal de la diócesis.
Servir como recurso a las parroquias diocesanas, escuelas, oficinas e instituciones con respecto a asuntos litúrgicos que incluyen música, celebraciones sacramentales, devociones prácticas y formación litúrgica.
Servir como recurso a las parroquias diocesanas, escuelas, oficinas e instituciones para implementar el Rito de Iniciación Cristiana (RICA). RICA es el proceso normativo para cualquier persona que han pasado de la infancia y tienen uso de razón (generalmente a los 7 años de edad) de llegar a ser un católico a través del bautismo o recepción en la plena comunión de la Iglesia Católica.
Planear y coordinar las liturgias Episcopales en las cuales el obispo preside;
Ayudar al obispo en aprobar cualquiera de las renovaciones, remodelaciones o construcción de iglesias o de lugares de adoración.
