"Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4)

Grief is process that each person experiences uniquely in his or her own way.  There is no doubt that grief comes with pain, a pain that varies in different degrees for each person.   Emotions vary as well.  The most common reactions to the death of a loved one are: shock, denial, anger, guilt, sadness, and finally acceptance.   These may be felt in sequence or all at once.

Throughout the Diocese of Orange, one can find bereavement and grief support ministries.  Please contact your parish office to see if their is a ministry offered or refer to the following brochure.
