To help organize Peace and Justice events in the diocese, a Deanery Peace and Justice Network has been established. The Deanery’s are clusters of parishes (grouped roughly geographically) with approximately 10 parishes in each deanery. Each parish sends one or two representatives to its Deanery committee. (For a list of parishes in each deanery, go to http://www.rcbo.org/parishes/deaneries.htm.) The Deanery committees will each organize 3 – 4 peace and justice events each year that will involve the parishes in the deanery. These events are centered on topics that are suggested by the U. S. Catholic Bishops and selected by Bishop Soto. The topics and suggestions for events are communicated through representatives from each Deanery that meet monthly with Bishop Soto. In addition, the Deanery committees and representatives serves as a communication network for all peace and justice activities in the diocese, from the diocesan to the parish level. The current chair of each Deanery committee is listed in the table.
