Natural Family Planning (esta información esta disponible en Español)
Natural Family Planning (NFP) is a method of family planning used by couples to achieve, space, or avoid pregnancy. It is based on scientific research and is proven to be 99% effective when used by properly instructed, motivated couples. NFP correlates the observation of the naturally occurring signs and symptoms of the fertile and infertile phases of a woman’s menstrual cycle. NFP is not calendar “Rhythm.”
NFP instruction requires attendance at three or four classes spaced approximately one month apart. Registration six months prior to wedding date is recommended. Married couples that seek a natural alternative to artificial contraception are encouraged to attend.
NFP respects the love and life-giving nature of marital relations. The Church supports NFP as a morally acceptable way to postpone pregnancy.
