INFANT BAPTISMS
Our Catholic Deaf Center should be notified at least 6 weeks prior to the actual date of Baptism for infants. Our Baptisms normally take place during our Sunday Mass. Parents and Godparents are required to attend Baptismal Preparation classes prior to the reception of the sacrament for their child. We are also available to provide classes and other assistance for Deaf parents and Godparents wishing to have a child baptized in their home parish. Baptisms for children over 7 years of age is through our RCIA program.
SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY
The Catholic Deaf Center provides Marriage Preparations classes for Deaf couples planning their Wedding either with the Catholic Deaf Community or in their home parishes. We also work with your home parish in planning and preparing all details for the Marriage Ceremony. We recommend you contact our office at least one year prior to the wedding date to best accommodate your required classes and paperwork.
SPECIAL SERVICES/MASSES
Our ministry provides planning and assistance with funerals, anniversary celebrations, Quinceaneras and other special liturgical services to be held either with our Catholic Deaf Community or at your home parish.
INTERPRETERS
We are happy to work with assisting our parishes and their Deaf parishioners in locating qualified interpreters for special occasions such as Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals, retreats and workshops. We connect our interpreters with your parish. The parish and/or family take responsibility for the financial cost of an interpreter.
