IEC PILGRIMS RECEIVE BLESSING BEFORE JOURNEY TO IRELAND
On Wednesday, May 23, twelve of the nineteen participants in the Diocese of Orange Pilgrimage to Ireland gathered at Marywood Chapel to celebrate Mass and pray for God’s blessing upon the journey before them. Bishop Brown had originally planned to give his blessing to the travel group. An unanticipated change in schedule prevented his presence. Monsignor Michael Heher, Vicar General of the Diocese, imparted the blessing and, on Bishop’s behalf, extended best wishes for a safe and enriching journey.
The pilgrimage group will leave for Ireland on Monday, June 11. After arriving at Shannon Airport, they will visit Knock, Kylemore Abbey, Galway and various sites on the western coast of Ireland. They will then travel to Dublin by bus. After attending the International Eucharistic Congress, they will explore various sites in the Dublin area, including Glendalough. The pilgrimage group will be accompanied by Fr. Gerald Horan OSM (Vicar for Faith Formation) and Sister Eymard Flood OSC (Episcopal Delegate for Consecrated Life). They return to Southern California on June 20.
