The Institute provides the following programs:

BASIC CERTIFICATION

• This program aims to develop basic catechetical and methodological competency in all those who teach the faith in Catholic schools or parish programs of religious education. Courses are available on a rotating basis a Marywood Center and selected parish sites in both English and Spanish.

MASTER CATECHIST

• This program aims to train parish leaders theologically and methodologically for the administration of catechetical programs or for catechist formation and inservicing.

PROFESSIONAL CATECHIST

• This program provides Catholic School teachers with a structured course of theological studies to assist in faithfully communicating the tradition of the Catholic Church.

CERTIFICATE IN BIBLICAL STUDIES

• This program has been designed to provide basic tools for Scripture study, and to enable Bible students to pray and understand God's word with greater fidelity.

CERTIFICATE IN CATHOLIC STUDIES

• This program offers a general orientation to all areas of church teaching and tradition in a structured, college-level curriculum.

CERTIFICATE IN CHRISTIAN SPIRITUALITY

• This course of study offers an in-depth investigation of the dynamics of the spiritual life, including prayer and mysticism.

INICIACION CRISTOLOGICA

• This is a consecutive four-year formation program which centers on Jesus Christ and His Church. Registration is limited; entrance interview required. Spanish only.

CAMINANDO CON CRISTO

• This is a five-year series of interrelated courses which investigate the Christian life and human development. Spanish only.

ESTUDIOS BIBLICOS

• This program offers the opportunity to delve into individual books of the Bible in a series of short courses.

LAY MINISTRY FORMATION
