Just in time for the spring ordination season,
the newest addition to the CCC's streaming video page is a feature
on the Saint Paul Seminary in the Archdiocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis,
which has been forming men for the Catholic priesthood for over
a hundred years. Produced by Lino Rulli, host and executive producer
of the popular television show 'Generation Cross', this segment
offers a rare and inspiring look at some of these men and what drew
them to the priesthood, as they finish life in the seminary and
prepare for life as Catholic priests.
Also available on the streaming video page: highlights
from the CCC's production of this year's Easter liturgy from the
Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles; a feature on
the 'Protecting God's Children' program being implemented by the
Diocese of Peoria to educate and raise awareness of the problem
of sexual abuse in the Church and in society in general; a story
produced by the Archdiocese of Seattle on hospice care; and a feature
on men's faith sharing groups and how they're providing an outlet
for men to express their faith and what it means to them.
Dioceses and parishes are welcome to link to the CCC's streaming
video page or to use the segments in local programming. Parishes
are also encouraged to promote this project in their bulletins and
invite parishioners to log on and check it out. To order copies
(either for broadcast or other purposes) of any of the stories currently
on the streaming video page, contact Ken Stockard at (202) 541-3209.
To view the programs, log on to the USCCB website at http://www.usccb.org
and click on the "streaming video" link. Visitors can
view the segments using either RealPlayer or Windows Media technologies.
