Bishop of Orange SUBJECT: Letter from the California Catholic Conference As promised by e-mail last Wednesday, attached you will find the letter from the Bishops of California regarding SB 1779. The letter is being provided in English and Spanish. I ask your cooperation in making certain that this letter is read at all Masses this coming weekend (December 7-8, 2002) and also making certain that the letter is copied and put in your parish bulletin this weekend. I appreciate the work of our Vietnamese and Korean-speaking priests in providing a translation of this letter for the Masses you celebrate. For your information, this letter will be published in The Tidings this coming Thursday, and in The Orange County Catholic on the weekend of December 14-15, 2002. You will also see articles about this in the local press. It is the intention of the California Catholic Conference to have this embargoed until Thursday, December 5, 2002.
